Helpmeout swoops late again under ice cool Lee

Helpmeout repeated similar tactics to when successful here on her penultimate start by swooping late on the outer to land the Invesco Pensions Consultants Handicap at Leopardstown.
Billy Lee was ice cool holding her up in rear and still had all 11 rivals ahead of him approaching the home straight.
The 7/1 chance made good headway a furlong out and, despite edging left under pressure, kept on well to lead close home.
The Willie McCreery-trained filly beat Westernesse who also came home well, by a neck with the front-running Sovereignty three-quarters-of-a-length back in third. Scarlet Angel was checked inside the final furlong eventually finishing seventh.
McCreery said, “She seems to like it here. She needs a bit of room and they probably went plenty fast enough in front but she galloped out in the straight.
“He said she grabbed the bridle turning in and took off.
“I’m delighted for Jimmy Murphy from Redpender Stud and she’s a homebred as well.
“I thought when she hit the front she half pulled herself up again. He could have left it a bit later! Ah no it was a brilliant ride.”
