Harley stars on Tiernan
Mac Tiernan benefitted from a fine front-running ride by Martin Harley to take division two of the 50-80 rated mile handicap at Navan this afternoon.
The Pat Lally-trained gelding beat Waydownsouth at Clonmel last month and, with that form receiving a timely boost just half-an-hour earlier, he was well-backed on track from 6/1 down to 9/2 favouritism.
Harley made the decisive move by kicking on around two furlongs from home, and he stuck it out well to beat Confidence by two lengths, with Sacred Sovereign a length a three quarters further back in third.
