Golantilla made a winning chase debut on his first start for trainer Alan Fleming at Killarney today, landing the JOC Metal Fabrication Beginners Chase for owner Barry Connell and retained rider Adrian Heskin.
Golantilla, whose E375,000 purchase in 2013 was followed by a third placing in the Cheltenham Bumper, jumped to the front three out and from there maintained his gallop for a length and three parts win over Mr Picotee
Afterwards Fleming stated "that was a lovely introduction and a lot of the credit must go to Tony Martin (previous trainer) who said to get his wind done and it has turned him inside out.
"He was very natural and seemed to put in a nice clear round of jumping and won well. We'll see how he is in the next ten days and see what Barry (Connell, owner) wants to do."
