The Noel Meade trained, Gigginstown House Stud owned A Genie In Abottle completed his full-set of maiden wins at Fairyhouse today when landing the Merry Christmas From Fairyhouse Beginners Chase on his third chase attempt.
The son of Beneficial was already a maiden winner of a point to point, bumper and hurdle and today, under jockey Bryan Cooper, made all for a stout staying win over Blazer
Following the race, Meade stated “he needs at least three miles and while he goes on good ground, it's just the soft ground slows the others down. He couldn't have it far enough or soft enough and could be one to consider for the four-mile race at Cheltenham.”
"As soon as he (Cooper) injected a bit of pace off the bend he had them all in trouble and he's a brilliant jumper."
"There is a Grade 3 race in Naas (on January 28) over three miles that we could look at.”
