Fran's tactics work a Charm
The opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Leopardstown today went to the John Oxx trained, and apparent second-string, What A Charm under Fran Berry.
Oxx's stable jockey Mick Kinane partnered debutante O'Bella Ballerina but the filly never threatened What A Charm, which recorded an all-the-way two lengths win over Sahaayeb
Afterwards Oxx reported “What A Charm did a good job there. She ran well first time out at Cork but got hurt leaving the stalls on her last run. She stays well and likes a 'cut' in the ground. Fran (Berry) had it in his head to make the running today and it worked out well.”
