All-Ireland winning footballer-turned-pundit Colm O'Rourke and his wife Patricia registered a winner at Killarney today as the Jim Bolger trained Ivy Avenue gained a maiden win in the opening division of the Diarmuid Cronin Electrical Handicap, under jockey Kevin Manning.
Carrying the blue and white colours of O'Rourke's local Skryne GAA club, the daughter of Ivawood was today produced late to score a length and a half win over Rememberthetitans
Following the race Una Bolger, daughter of the winning trainer and wife of the winning jockey, later reported “Kevin said she won well and liked the ground; she'll go for something similar next. The owners are delighted.”
