Flynn Lucky Down South
Trainer Pat Flynn and jockey Danny Grant combined to take the Cork Bar & Catering Handicap with 11/1 shot Waydownsouth
Grant came with his run on the outer from over a furlong out and swooped through to take up the lead close home and deny 11/4 favourite Elusive Art by a length and three parts.
A delighted Flynn said afterwards: “We were hoping he’d run well but we didn’t think he’d win. I hope he runs just as well next time out.”
“I used to train his mother and she was from an ordinary enough family but he seems to have a bit more talent.”
“We will stick to three year old handicaps and see how far he goes.”
