Fourth at Ballinrobe on debut nearly three weeks ago, Carrigmoorna Elm came forward well to win the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race at Downpatrick.
Declan Queally ’s Shantou youngster was well-backed in County Mayo when showing plenty behind Must Be Obeyed, and again she was towards the head of the betting this afternoon.
With Mikey Sweeney up Carrigmoorna Elm stylishly accounted for Maggie Barrett by seven lengths, in the process very much looking like one that will be worth following.
"She's a very nice mare, we thought a lot of her coming here today,” said Sweeney.
"She had a very good run the first time out on soft ground. We knew today she would benefit from the run the last day and the ground helped her as well.
"Definitely, she will win a few races not a bother."
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Rigmarole trained by Ms Margaret Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
