Elliott & Gigginstown take Fairyhouse opener

The Gordon Elliott trained Tocororo made it third time lucky over hurdles to win the opening Buy Your Great Value Annual Fairyhouse Membership Today Maiden Hurdle at Fairyhouse today for owner Michael O'Leary's Gigginstown House Stud and jockey Bryan Cooper.
The daughter of Teofilo battled to lead approaching the final flight and in the end stayed on well for a three and three parts of a length win over Swamp Fox
Afterwards Elliott stated “she's a grand filly but I don't know how good of a race it was. She seemed to like the soft ground and we'll try and find a winners race for her next.
“I'd say she'll stay further as she looked in trouble turning in but ended up winning nicely.”
The Cuban trogon or tocororo is a species of bird endemic to the Caribbean island of Cuba.
