Dolce Strega went off at odds of 8/13 and she didn't disappoint in the Light Up Your Night Median Auction Race at Dundalk for Willie McCreery and Billy Lee.
The Zoffany filly was pushed along to lead a furlong and a half out. She was ridden and stayed on strongly in the final furlong to see off Lady Oak by a length.
"It was a grand race to find for her, and that will leave her right for the Athasi Stakes at the Curragh in a few weeks," stated McCreery.
"It's the first horse I've trained for the owner/breeders (Renzo Forni) who are Italian, and I also have a younger Canford Cliffs half-sister."
