Dare provides Mullins & Walsh with treble
After recording trebles at Fairyhouse on Wednesday and Thurles on Thursday Willie Mullins done it again this afternoon as his Dare To Doubt with Ruby Walsh aboard took the Ladbrokes.com Mobile App Handicap Hurdle.
Walsh, who was also recording a treble, gave the daughter King's Theatre a great ride coming through to lead approaching the last before staying on strongly on the run-in to score by three lengths.
The winner, who was returned the 5/1 joint favourite was making her handicap and seasonal debut this afternoon after winning twice last season including a Grade 2 at Naas in February.
The other 5/1 joint favourite Capellanus finished second for Edward O’Grady with Barry Geraghty aboard while Mullins' other runner Strain Of Fame ran well to take third, three parts of a length back at 8/1.
Willie Mullins said afterwards: "That was a tremendous ride by Ruby.
"We decided to change the tactics with her as it was breaking her heart making the running last season.
"She was rated 132 coming into this and that would put her into Graded class.
"She loves that ground and has got a lot stronger this season. We will probably aim for something around Christmas with her now."
