Gavin Cromwell ended the Bellewstown four-day festival on a high when Running In Heels gave him a double on the final day.
The handler had endured a frustrating run of seconds on the first three days but bounced back with Political Policy earlier on the card.
In a dramatic finish to the Sean Rothwell Construction Handicap Hurdle the trainer's other runner Le Braye looked set to score leading over the last but he was collared late on the run-in by Canny Tom
Running In Heels flew home in the closing stages to trump the pair, however, getting up late on for a half length victory under Brien Kane.
“Happy days. The monkey is off my back anyway!” said Cromwell.
“I thought I was going to be second again with Le Braye but the mare sprouted wings.
“She never jumped a fence the last day in Wexford. She missed one early on, got crowded and lost her confidence.
“I will go back over fences with her, I'm not saying it'll be the next time, but I definitely will. I'll just put a line through that.
“She's well handicapped over fences but she just got no daylight that day.
“Before I got her she ran in 33 point-to-points and won a few. I bought her for two-and-a-half grand. She won the first day and she's been second since.”
