Camira wins Leopardstown opener
The opening YITBA Racing Club Apprentice Handicap at Leopardstown today went to the Eddie Harty trained Camira which won cosily under Conor O’Farrell.
O’Farrell held the daughter of Namid up towards the rear, made progress in the straight to get to the front over one furlong out, eventually recording a half length win over Inwood
Afterwards Harty reported “Camira was unlucky when second at Gowran the last day as she failed to act on the fast ground inside the final furlong then.”
He added “Camira has improved since we started to ‘drop her in’ in her races and she has really come to herself now – there are plenty of similar handicaps for her from here but she does prefer a good galloping track because of the way she races.
