Rock The World s win in the Tayto Group Maiden Hurdle at Down Royal today kicked off a potentially huge day for high profile owner Michael Buckley, who runs Toast Of New York in this evening's Breeders Cup Classic at Santa Anita.
Buckey has bigger things to fry ahead of his breakfast (the Irish race was run at 6.20am California time) and the prospect, later in the evening, of winning nearly £1.7m as his global superstar and UAE Derby winner Toast Of New York contests the Breeders Cup Classic.
The winner was ridden by Robbie Power and following his comfortable win, winning trainer Jessica Harrington said “that was a little bit overdue. He's had niggly problems, sore shins and a wind operation.
“He was second in this race last year but is stronger this year. We'll probably go the novice route and wait another year for fences.”
