There has been a significant gamble on the Jimmy Coogan trained Awicompany in the Gowran Park Golf Club Nursery H'cap at the Co. Kilkenny venue this afternoon.
The daughter of Fast Company hasn't troubled the judge in three maiden outings but showed a little improvement on her most recent start at the Galway Festival when finishing in mid-field behind Eziyra in a seven furlong contest.
Drawn 1 for her handicap debut racing off a mark of 64 the filly has shortened from 33/1 to 8/1 with Ladbrokes in early exchanges and all other leading bookmakers have also cut her price dramatically since betting on the race began this morning.
Curragh based Coogan has been very quiet in recent seasons and Awicompany is the only horse he has run this year.
His last winner in May 2013 when Theyturnedmedown won a sprint handicap at Navan.
Leigh Roche who was aboard the Navan winner has been booked to ride Awicompany for the first time this afternoon.
