Trossachs stormed clear in the closing stages to turn the Apprentice Derby at the Curragh into a procession.
Gavin Ryan produced the 15/8 favourite to lead two furlongs out in the mile-and-a-half handicap and he soon asserted.
The Jim Bolger-trained son of New Approach really opened up inside the final furlong to record a seven-and-a-half length success in the Godolphin colours.
He was recording back-to-back successes having landed his maiden at Limerick 12 days ago.
Bolger said:- “He’s coming to himself now. He’s basically a good ground horse, and he stays well which always helps.”
Ryan added:- “He’s a lightly-raced colt and won his maiden well at Limerick. He has a lovely attitude. He turned into the straight and put it to bed very easily, and he stayed at it well. He’s definitely a horse to follow.
“In fairness to the boss he’s put me up on three good horses in this race. I was second on Slaney Street two years ago, and then won it on Dawn Hoofer last year. He’s very good to me and gives me a lot of chances.
“I’d also like to thank my jockey coach Gordon Power who is a great help to me. He's always working on my riding and improving my strength in a finish. Dave Keena is also doing a great job booking my rides.”
