Article the Real deal
The Real Article stamped his class on proceedings when running out a cosy winner of the MaxMara Hurdle at Down Royal.
Edward O'Grady 's charge had failed to shine on the Flat last time but was back to his best on his return to jumping.
Andrew McNamara hit the front after the second last on the 9/4 joint favourite and he was soon in command.
Market rival Pires gave chase but could never get on terms and the winner could afford to ease down on the run-in for a five-length success.
"I have to thank the racecourse farrier as he travelled up badly and tore a shoe off. He did a great job with polyfilla!," revealed O'Grady.
"He did it nicely on ground that's softer than he wants. He'll go chasing in the autumn but could go to Galway for a hurdle, even though that might not be his track."
