A headline maker at Downpatrick last August when landing a big gamble, Anyway got himself back on track after two ordinary efforts since, in today's Follow Us On Twitter Handicap Hurdle at Cork.

Bought by Charles Byrnes as youngster, the German-bred triumphed in the north last summer on a day when the Limerick trainer had a treble, and this afternoon some of the pre-race attention centred on a contender from the Ballingarry outfit. Dubeyeracingcraic shortened up from 14/1 into 11/2, and while he was keeping on at the same pace in eighth, up front Anyway in the hands of Carl Millar, was getting the job done nicely by two lengths from Ring O Roses

"It had gone too soft for him at Listowel (last September) and I don't know what happened at Fairyhouse (October) as he never travelled," said successful handler Ken Budds.

"He has been in great order and it was Carl's first time riding for me. We'll go for another hurdle but can also go over fences as he has schooled over them. Hopefully he'll have a nice summer."

J.C. Gainford, rider of Carrig Rock trained by Peter Croke, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount pulled up quickly.
