A Premier Victory for Hogan
The Europeans Breeders Fund Hamptons Furnishings Mares Novice Hurdle was won in good style by the Tom Hogan trained Premier Victory who ran out a nine length winner.
John Cullen produced his mount to lead before four out and stretched clear from two out, but all their good work was nearly undone by a bad mistake at the last.
A delighted Hogan said afterwards: “It’s a lovely race to win especially during the recession and I own a third of her myself.”
“She had a little allergy the last day she ran, so we were hoping for the best today and that she’d improve.”
“Ger Gavin who also owns a share in her has had a winner with every horse he’s had in training with me. I offered him a lift today as I was driving the jeep and box up but he declined the offer.”
“We will probably keep her going now, she’d probably prefer a longer trip. There’s a three mile race coming up in Cork that might suit her so we’ll see, there’s plenty of races coming up.”
