I just tick away with her and haven’t done a lot with her. She was good. They have done a good job here with the ground. They just took the sting out of the ground and she was fine on it. The dream is still alive. I knew she was in great form but I thought she might just need it. She has definitely got stronger. She came back from her winter break looking brilliant and hasn’t missed a day. In hindsight 3/1 about a Group 1 winner in a Listed race might have been a bit of value!. She is in two Group 2 six-furlong races next month, the Greenlands and the Duke Of York. The jockey and the trainer are sitting on the fence as regards her best trip so we’ll probably run her over six and then make up our mind about Royal Ascot. The Duke Of York is sponsored by a certain crowd called Clipper Logistics but the Greenlands is a lot nearer home!

I was asked if Chris (Hayes) could have been jocked off for the ride the last day but they put rubbers on pencils because everyone makes mistakes! . He was good on her and today was the day that matters.

My only concern was would she quicken on the ground but in fairness to her she did. She’s getting better. We took our time with her and didn’t run her at two, progressed at three and this idiot thought she might be a miler!. She ran a lovely race first time out over a mile but has just got faster and faster. She was bought by a good judge — my daughter Amy bought her as a foal for 25 grand and she also bought Soffia as a foal so I should isolate instead of going to the sales!. Clipper (Logistics Group) have always had a horse with me and I’ve had a good bit of luck for them. We don’t have many owners so it’s nice to be able to do something good for them and they have been very patient. She was always going well but I thought we were running out of furlongs and then she got there in a heartbeat.

It was a nice to get a nice win with her. It was the plan to go for one of these big races as we thought she was well enough handicapped and competitive. Plans seldom work but this one did,. She was very fresh the first day but she'd had a run. I was leaning towards running her in the seven furlong handicap but with the little bit of rain I thought this race might suit better. I talked to Joe Foley and he thought the same, between the two of us we got it right. It's nice to get a winner for Steve (Parkin) who is a big supporter of mine. Between Leeds winning the Championship and Eagles By Day winning at York he's having a good weekend.

I was concerned that the ground might have gone a bit quick for her but she reveled in it,. She ran very well here earlier in the year and I didn't think it would take me as long as it did to win a maiden with her. It's nice to win with those colours (Clipper Logistics Group) again. He (Steve Parkin) always has a horse with us and we've had a bit of good luck with him with the likes of Agnes Stewart, Midnight Cross and Hot Stone. She did it well. We'll see what the handicapper does and try and find a fillies handicap for her. My daughter bought her as a foal and Joe (Foley) bought her as a yearling off her, so she's been lucky for me with the foals she's bought.
