After race at Limerick Sun, 17th Mar, 2019 (1st)
I'm delighted for (owners) David and Margaret Kiely and Conor gets a great tune out of him. I think he won well in the end considering the conditions and the trip,. Conor is adamant that he is capable of going back over hurdles so maybe we could look down that route. I thought after he won at Tramore that a plan could be to eventually run in a Cork National and after looking at that, if he keeps progressing it mightn't be out of the question as a longterm plan from a low weight. He needs to progress more but he saw that out well.

We are lucky around here so that was probably a help as well. Every winner we have means the world to us. He is owned by David Kiely (who is an undertaker) from Dungarvan, and it's great to get a winner for a local at his local track. Depending on the handicapper he might come back here on New Year's Day.

I am surprised; I thought he might run reasonably well but I wasn't expecting that. He is a nice horse and we thought he was going to be a chaser. Conor gave him an exceptional ride; I had been riding him wrong in point to points and I thought he was better with horses coming at him but he was a lot happier today passing horses and grew in confidence. I had it in my mind to go back chasing but we'll see what handicap hurdle mark he gets now. I actually thought 85 (his chase rating) was his level to tell you the truth but we may have also been working him wrong. I'm delighted for the owners David and Margaret Kiely from Dungarvan and I'll take this surprise.
