Tom filled me with confidence, said he was in great form but it was a pity about the draw. He really showed the ability he has, even from stall 17. He's very consistent, always breaks well and once you take a pull, he'll do his job from there. Even going up to the line there, he had his ears pricked and had plenty left. He'd have been a bit better with a bit of company but got it done in the end.

That's his fourth win for us and it's nice to get a little birthday winner as well!. He's been unbelievable and is a super little servant. He can take a bit of a grip, we actually put the rubber bit back on him just to let him cart along a little bit as he enjoys that. It's great for Martin and Maureen (Flinter) who are great owners. Front-runners' tracks suit him but he's won around Naas as well which is a stiff track. I'll probably give him one or two more runs and then give him a month or six weeks holiday. I'll bring him back in for Dundalk around January time. We'll keep giving him little breaks. He comes back fresh and well and he enjoys himself.

Jack was super on him and I was just glad he didn’t get collared in the last 50 (yards). He’s been some little horse for us and can go out on his holidays now and has earned it. He’s won three for us now. He’s been a superstar for us. I have seven in training but won’t have too many runners now for a while. We have a few handicappers to go to war with.

he was super and he's been a great horse for us, it's been a super start. Jack gave him a lovely ride, he's a very good rider and he deserves all the breaks he gets. I was delighted with him. He got a soft little lead, he either needs them to go very hard or things to go his way a little bit and it all worked out today. He might have a few easy weeks now and then try and line up something in the middle or end of March back here again and then we might go to the turf with him, I think he'll handle a little ease in the ground.

That's my first runner and first winner, thank God. He goes well enough at home and we thought he was better than a 46-horse but we didn't expect that in a million years and we're over the moon. We're a small operation, we only have a handful of horses, and it's nice to start things off on the right foot. It's only myself and my other half Nicola doing them at home. We work hard and it's nice to reap the rewards. We're based in Mullacash (near Naas) and the owner Martin Flinter is actually our landlord, we rent the yard off him, so it's quite fitting that our first winner is for him. We only have seven horses at the minute. We'll try building quality rather than quantity, we'll keep the numbers low and swap out the ones that can't win.
