Much loved winner for Ryan and Morgan
Owner Mick Ryan saw his colours carried to an impressive victory by Moran Gra in the 6f EBF Maiden at Leopardstown. Thu 04th Jun
We've actually had a bit of a problem with his feet and I have to thank the farrier, Mattie Smith. Even though he likes that fast ground the last couple of times he's been changing his legs on it. He's had cracked feet and he was just getting pinched so we got special shoes for him with rubber insoles. I knew he was in great form but you couldn't really gallop him on that ground to find out if the treatment had worked. I won this twice as a jockey, for Con Collins and Arthur Moore, and I'm delighted he's won it as he's such a pet. To be perfectly honest he's not really good enough for the Group and Listed races here and a mile is his trip. There's a race at Leopardstown for him over a mile and one but I don't think he'll get the trip. I might stick him in anyway as there's not much else for him. Ideally I'd love to go to California with him in the winter . the States would be the place for him.

Moran Gra only landed back from Dubai on Wednesday evening and he is such a good traveller I'd say he could fly the plane if they were stuck! . He is so relaxed but is only really a handicapper. Ronan was strong on him and the 5lbs claim made the difference. He ran well in Dubai but was handicapped out of it but is back to a mark of 100 now which he could win off. That's his first time running on the all-weather in Ireland and I knew he would like it as it wouldn't be as quick in Dubai.
Ms Joanna Morgan
Moran Gra is a lovely tough little horse and we his form was boosted by Collingwood's good run earlier. He'll probably run next at Leopardstown in a month but might give Galway a skip as he probably wouldn't hack a busily run race.
Ms Joanna Morgan
He's a good horse . it's easier training good horses. He'd been working very well and we fancied him today. The owners (Donal Breen and Michael Ryan) had a few quid on. I might take him for a big handicap at Royal Ascot as the owners would be keen to travel. He's a laid-back horse but he doesn't like to be in the middle of the action . he needs daylight.
Ms Joanna Morgan
The late Fr. Sean Breen persuaded Mick Ryan at Cheltenham last year to put a yearling with me and this fellow is the result. Moran Gra translates to Much Loved and is in memory of Sean. I have always thought a lot of this colt. The ground was against him first time out and while he is still a big baby we will make an entry for him at Royal Ascot.
