Sakakawea showed good resolution to get up in the closing stages of the extended five furlong fillies' maiden that kicked proceedings off in Sligo. Sun 05th May
After race at Dundalk Fri, 25th Oct, 2024 (1st)
Jack gave her a lovely ride and everything went to plan - jumped, got a nice position, just carried into the race. She travelled very sweetly. Gap opened up and she just went through, she was probably there plenty soon but she could do nothing else and did it very smoothly. All good. She's going to Newmarket Sales, so she is on the boat tonight for her trouble. I'm pleased she has won three. We persevered with her into her four-year-old career because we thought there was something there. It took a while, but at least we got it right eventually!

After race at Dundalk Thu, 15th Aug, 2024 (1st)
On her early maiden runs, we thought there was a day in her but had more or less given up. We brought her here actually as a lead horse about two weeks ago and she seemed to handle it. It was over a mile and I thought 'gosh, I'll run her back one more time'. I'm not claiming too much brilliance but that is just what happened. I actually told Wayne 'you're on a high from the last one, but your colours will be lowered here!'. He would do light weights and I really like Wayne. He is a super rider, obviously, and he's a really down-to-earth guy. On light weights, I would always headhunt him.
