After race at Dundalk Wed, 31st Jan, 2024 (1st)
I think she has been out of the money once all year and she has got black-type twice here and in England. She ran a cracker in the all-weather finals in England and that's where she will be heading, to Newcastle for the mares' race. I think she has one more run to have here. I wish I had a horse like this to train every day because she is easy to train and she eats and sleeps. Touch wood she has never given me a minute's trouble. She is a super horse to train and great for the bunch of lads. We were going to cover her this year and we said if she keeps winning, we will keep going with her. We have run her over five up to a mile and that is how versatile she is. It is not easy to get those type of fillies that can be so versatile. Adam took his time and she did it easily. He sat in a lovely position and she was there to pounce. I just hope Garry (O'Gorman, handicapper) doesn't get carried away.
Adrian McGuinness
After race at Dundalk Fri, 20th Jan, 2023 (1st)
She's a great filly and she's a lovely filly to train. She is just improving and improving. He was very good on her too today, he didn't panic. They went good and quick, so he just sat there and that is the beauty about him. I'm delighted for the lads, I think that is her fourth win since she came to me. We'll probably try and get a bit of black-type with her now. She did that very easily tonight. She deserves a shot at a good pot somewhere and that is what she will get. We might look at the all-weather finals, I think the likes of Newcastle would suit her because they will go very, very fast and the race is inclined to collapse. She is a very strong traveller.
Adrian McGuinness
After race at Dundalk Fri, 11th Nov, 2022 (1st)
He gave her a great ride, he was really patient on her and took his time. She was drawn badly and I just said 'slot in and take your time' and that's exactly what he did. They went good and quick and it played into her strengths, but she picked up and got to them. She is improving - how much more she is going to improve I don't know, we will just keep going until Garry (O'Gorman, handicapper) gets her!
Adrian McGuinness
After race at Dundalk Fri, 16th Sep, 2022 (1st)
He gave her a great ride because we were drawn wide enough. I told him to jump out and get the best possible position and tighten up around the bend. That's exactly what he did and he didn't panic up the straight. The horse was there to take him where he wanted to go which was a big help. She's improved and we'll probably have a shot at a bigger handicap here later on, either over six or seven. She loves the surface, she likes a good solid surface. She's an easy filly to train, we haven't murdered her since she ran. She was third on the beach last week and she enjoyed that day as well. We'll keep going with her and the handicapper will soon tell us when she's going to stop!. She's a fun filly and we'll have a bit of craic with her.
Adrian McGuinness
After race at Naas Sun, 21st Aug, 2022 (1st)
I have her about seven or eight weeks. She worked with Praying Mantis which won in Gowran a few weeks ago and while she (Hodd's Girl) surprised me when she won, obviously the work she did wasn’t too bad because the two of them were fairly neck and neck. She’s been to the beach a few times and obviously the change of scenery and different way of training has helped. She’s entered at Bellewstown on Wednesday. She’s well down the ballot but hopefully they will divide and she can get a run. It’s over seven (furlongs) but the way she won there that should suit. The draw here is a complete head scratcher and the near side is the place to be today.
Adrian McGuinness
After race at Dundalk Thu, 2nd Sep, 2021 (1st)
She likes the surface and showed a spark in Naas recently. She’s probably just better on this surface than the grass for some reason. She had a couple of messy starts but wasn’t always like that. She jumped awkwardly one day in Tipperary and it sort of frightened her for a while. We pull a hood off her now and she broke well today. She handled going six furlongs well so we'll tip away.
M Halford
After race at Dundalk Fri, 15th Jan, 2021 (1st)
sprinting is different as they have to learn how to sprint. She was always in a hurry but wasn't able to get home. She's enjoying this surface here now. We don't do a whole lot with her at home, she doesn't take a lot of work, but you could tell by her that she was in real good form. I thought she had improved a little bit and her form was advertised with the runner-up last time winning since. I thought she'd run well. When she's in that sort of form you keep them going. She's easy enough to keep ticking away. I have her in here next week over six but I'm sure whether we'd bring her back or not. We'll see how she is. There aren't too many opportunities over five but I'll see what's coming up.
M Halford
After race at Dundalk Wed, 16th Dec, 2020 (1st)
Mikey said the last day he rode her that she was drawn wide and they were just gone and she didn't know what was happening. He said if he had been drawn lower he would have been a bit closer. She had sharpened up at home since and was 4lb better off with the second horse so I was hoping she'd be placed. The penny has dropped with her now and she's learning how to sprint. She was sharp today whereas the last day she was lost when they jumped. She's a grand big filly and handles that surface. She's very straight-forward and it's good to get a bracket with her. I wasn't so sure she'd handle this as she handled a dig in the ground really well. The owners just said to kick on this year and see if we could get her to do something. It's difficult for owners keeping them in training with trying to get them into races and everything else so rather than stopping and starting her again next year we said we'd keep coming up here. She's always shown a little bit but it's just taken a while to get it all together.
