That's my first blacktype. They are there to be jumped. I would have been happy with third, but Christmas came early. Her form was good all along and she was unlucky in Clonmel not to get blacktype as she took on Tarla that day. I didn't enter her over Christmas as there aren't a lot of races for her. Today was the plan.

She's a super mare and she's going from strength to strength all the time,. She's just taken time to come to herself. I've been a long time trying to get a good mare and by God I have one now!. After she won over fences we decided to get a mark for her on the Flat and the Cesarewitch is her target. We won the race three times with Bigaroon (trainer by his father Tom to score in 1970, 71 & 73). She'll go for a conditions chase at Galway before that and we probably won't do a whole lot with her between now and then. Rachel gave her a great ride and is a big help coming in to ride work for me.

I knew yesterday she was on form. I ride her out myself every morning and that's how she's so fit!. She'll go for a conditions chase at Galway and then on to Listowel. She's been very unlucky. She was the first horse beaten a nose when that distance was brought in [Listowel bumper September 2011]. Adrienne gave her a great ride. Katie Walsh was due to ride her, but when Willie put his in she had to ride it.

She carries me around every day so she must be a good horse. My gallops were washed away with the weather so we depended a lot on Michelle Gannon's gallops. She takes her racing well and jumps fences better than she jumped hurdles. We have an excuse to go to Galway now and she will go for the 2m 6f race or 2m 1f condtions race. She will probably go for the latter as I'm not sure she would get 2m 6f.
John W Nicholson
that's me off the cold trainers' list! . She was the first horse to be beaten by a 'nose' in Ireland (a bumper in Listowel) and she always jumped her hurdles like fences so we knew chasing was her game. She might go to Galway now and she likes good ground.
