Fiesolana does McCreery proud again
A half-sister to Grade 1 winning jumpers in France, Tidal Fury and Tidara Angel, Fiesolana is also a winner out there, at Saint-Cloud. However it's now hardly an exaggeration to view her as one of the stories of this campaign on the level in Ireland. She made it three wins from four starts since joining Willie McCreery, in the Group 3 Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Brownstown Stakes at Fairyhouse. Wed 03rd Jul

I'm over-come!What a horse and what a ride. I thought she wasn't going to get there but she did. Billy was as cool as a cucumber and never panicked. Billy was brilliant on her - they went a sensible pace and she got into a bit of trouble but it probably came at the right time. Billy is a cool rider and I said to him I'd rather he was beat than come too early. You dream of this and it was a huge compliment that the Niarchos family (Flaxman Stables Ireland Ltd) had the faith to send her back to me after spending 1.2 million on her and I'm glad I could repay them. I can't believe it and it's great for her and for me. Patrick Cooper said to Alan to keep her in training this season as she'd win a Group 1 but at the start of the year she had an infection and we didn't know if we would get her back. She's a big solid type, is hard to get fit but is still improving; she'll go for the Prix de la Foret now.

It all went according to plan. Billy felt that there would be a strong pace and she is very uncomplicated although the main thing is not to take a pull out of her. When she shot clear she was looking around. We may go to Longchamp with her now on Arc weekend for the Prix De La Foret over seven furlongs. She is a right mare and she has good form in France on soft ground. She doesn't seem to mind what way it is. She is a big filly and I didn't mind her carrying nine stone ten here as she is well able for it.
W McCreery
She's just a no nonsense mare. She keeps doing it and that's probably another step up for her on ground she probably wouldn't overly like.
W McCreery
That was a great ride. He's a Group 1 jockey. The plan was to jump out and go, but he never panicked. I said whatever you do don't rush her. It was lucky all the others came off the rail. She came up the worst of the ground, but she likes an ease. I'm lucky to have her. I don't know where she'll go. I entered her in the Group 2 Kilboy Estate Stakes race over a mile and one at the Curragh [July 21, day after Irish Oaks day]. I'm a genius now! I had six seconds in Listed races last year. It's great to get a Group winner. She's in great form and they win nothing at home!. She's loving her work and her racing. Colm said she's a tough hardy filly.
W McCreery
I'm delighted with that. I was a bit worried about the ground. She came on a lot from her run at Tipperary. There's a Listed race for her in Naas in a couple of weeks. I've had her three months. She came from France. We'll have a bit of fun with her. She got a bit lonely in front.
W McCreery
