The Veterinary Officer reported that Delineate (IRE), trained by Wyn Morris, appeared to show evidence of possible administration of a substance in the left jugular vein.
The Trainer and the Veterinary Officer were interviewed.
The trainer’s explanation that Delineate (IRE) had a vitamin injection two days ago was noted.
Being satisfied that the mare had received only normal food and water by mouth on the day of racing, the Stewards allowed Delineate (IRE) to run, and ordered the mare to be routine tested.
Mr Dylan Kitts, the rider of Delineate (IRE), unplaced, was suspended for 5 days, on dates to be notified to him, for using his whip when out of contention on the run in.
