James J. Doyle, rider of Macaban City trained by Gerard Michael Hussey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away out of the starting stalls

The Stewards interviewed C.P. Hoban, rider of Romann, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that C.P. Hoban was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record, they cautioned him on this occasion

The Stewards requested a report from Patrick J.Flynn, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Romann, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Eoghan Norris, Authorised Representative for the trainer, reported that the yard had been under a cloud for sometime for no apparent reason and appeared to turn the corner today with the yard having two winners. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

An extended handicap for three years old and upwards rated 45-65
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 10st 2lbs and the minimum weight is 8st 6lbs
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra for each race won.
