Permission was given for Alezan (GB) to wear a red hood in the preliminaries which was removed at the start, and to go early to post, and for Zeyzoun (FR) to go early to post and be mounted on the course.
At the point of the bend, Bounty Pursuit (GB), placed fourth, collided with the rail and jinked right-handed making contact with HE’S OUR STAR (IRE), placed fifth; as a result, both Bounty Pursuit (GB) and his rider became unbalanced for a number of strides.
After viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Bounty Pursuit (GB).
