The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after leaving the stalls involving Mr Escobar, ridden by R.C. Colgan, Dancing Tango, ridden by C. Stone-Walsh, and Engagement Ring, ridden by J. Cleary, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned in the presence of Brendan Powell, who accompanied C. Stone-Walsh. J. Cleary stated that his mount had to check when the horses on his outside moved inwards. C. Stone-Walsh stated that the horse on his outer moved inwards and tightened his mount. R.C. Colgan stated that his mount was a difficult ride and leaned inwards causing interference despite his best efforts. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that the incident was caused by Mr. Escobar hanging, that no riding offence had occurred, and that no further action was warranted
