Permission was given for Gherkin (GB) to be mounted in the chute and wear a red hood to post.
The Starter reported that Hersilia (GB) was the subject of a third criteria failure.
Charles Hills was informed that the filly could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
Leaving the stalls, King Of Speed (IRE), placed second, jumped right-handed giving a bump to the winner, The Cola Kid (GB), but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately one and a half furlongs out, involving Bama Lama (GB), placed third, ridden by Oliver Searle; Gherkin (GB), unplaced, ridden by Harry Davies and King Of Speed (IRE), placed third, ridden by Kaiya Fraser.
Searle was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed under a left-hand drive, without sufficient correction, causing Gherkin (GB) to become short of room and to be sharply checked off heels, which in turn caused King Of Speed (IRE) to be bumped and moved off its intended line.
Following the race, Oliver Searle reported that Bama Lama (GB), placed third, hung right-handed.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Under Curfew (GB), unplaced, bled from the nose.
