He's always that way,. He's improved an awful lot since his last run. We knew he'd run well and the ground was right. He wasn't doing a tap in front and Barry was riding him at every fence. My wife bred him and he's a half-brother to Bob Lingo who won the Galway Plate a few years ago. He might be back next year for the Galway Plate. This is my first winner here. We have only a couple of horses — we are dairy farmers. He's the only horse I have in training at the moment, as the other one I have is just a breaker. J Hennessy, trainer
The Stewards requested a report from Joseph Hennessy, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Talk The Lingo, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Joseph Hennessy reported that this animal was his sole horse in training having been unsold due to a respiratory problem having previously won as an eight year old at Roscommon and Cork, both right handed tracks. He added that the first run at Naas on the 7th November 2015 his charge failed to handle the soft underfoot conditions. Following a seven month break he ran at Roscommon on the 13th June but unseated his rider at the third fence. His most recent run was at Wexford on the 1st July where he chased the leaders until tiring from the fourth last fence. He contributed today's success to his proven preference for a right handed track, the good ground conditions and the prominent riding tactics. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
