Captain Buck's (FR), trained by Paul Nicholls, was late in the Parade Ring due to difficulty with fitting the tongue tie.
The winner, Lillington (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Fontwell on 18 August 2020 where the gelding finished sixth of eight, beaten by 36 lengths.
Colin Tizzard’s representative’s explanation that Lillington (IRE) benefitted from the strong pace and the step up in trip from 2m 3f to 3m 1f was noted.

Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Gangster (FR), placed fifth, lost its left hind shoe.
