Bare Grils (IRE) and Equally Fast (GB), both trained by Ronald Harris, did not enter the Parade Ring due to the trainer’s representative having difficulty fitting the hood and saddling one of the runners.
The winner, Amasova (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Wolverhampton on 22 January 2022 where the filly finished last of ten runners, beaten by 6¾ lengths.
Alice Haynes' explanation that Amasova (GB) had benefitted from the drop back in trip to 5 furlongs on this occasion, was noted.
Amasova (GB) was routine tested.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run to the line when the winner, Amasova (GB), ridden by Kieran O’Neill interfered with Bare Grils (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Daniel Muscutt.
O’Neill was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to lug right-handed without sufficient correction causing a weakening Bare Grils to be briefly hampered.
Following the race, Grace McEntee reported that MICK’S SPIRIT, placed second, hung left-handed in the straight.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Bare Grils (IRE), placed fifth, finished lame right-fore.
