The Starter reported that Hoopmalassie (USA) refused to enter the stalls and was withdrawn at 1:43pm.

Keith Dalgleish was informed that the filly could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.

The winner, Vertice (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form, compared with its previous run at Catterick on 29 September 2021, where the filly finished eighth of thirteen beaten 25 lengths.

David Thompson explained that the filly may have appreciated the slowly run race on this occasion.

His explanation was noted.

The performance of Miracle Eagle (IRE) which started joint-favourite but finished unplaced, was considered.

Jedd O’Keeffe could offer no explanation for the performance other than the filly may not have appreciated the stop-start pace of the race on this occasion.

The Veterinary Officer reported that a post- race examination of the filly during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Zak Wheatley, the rider of Reclaim Victory (IRE), drawn 8, was slow to remove the blindfold resulting in his horse being slow to start.

Wheatley’s explanation was noted that the blindfold was stuck on the cheekpieces and took two attempts to remove.

Inside the final furlong, the winner, Vertice (IRE), hung quickly left for one hit causing the rider of Reclaim Victory (IRE), placed sixth, to check briefly.

However after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Vertice (IRE).

An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong when Reclaim Victory (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by Zak Wheatley, interfered with the winner, Vertice (IRE), ridden by Gianluca Sanna.

Wheatley was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift right without sufficient correction.

Stephen Mooney, the rider of Star Dreamer (GB), placed third, was suspended for 2 days for using his whip above the permitted level inside the final 2 furlongs.
