Permission was given for Mullinaree (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after jumping the fourth last hurdle, involving Fancy Your Chances (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Micheal Nolan; Mullinaree (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Mitchell Bastyan; The Bold Thady (IRE), placed second, ridden by Danny McMenamin and Per Vino Veritas (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Sean Houlihan.
The interference was found to be accidental as having jumped the hurdle Fancy Your Chances (IRE) shifted slightly right-handed, which resulted in The Bold Thady (IRE), who had improved on the inside, becoming short of room and bumping Per Vino Veritas (GB), turning that horse’s hind quarters and resulting in the rider having to apply pressure on his left- hand rein in order to get back onto racing line.
This resulted in the two horses on the outside of Per Vino Veritas (GB) continuing to be interfered with for a short time, thereafter.
Further to this, Fancy Your Chances (IRE) appeared to become short of room when Mullinaree (IRE) moving right-handed towards the rail, however Nolan explained that his mount had backed away on its own accord when Bastyan crossed its path when clear.
Sam Twiston-Davies, the rider of Barrowmount (IRE), fell shortly after the road crossing on the run to the finish line.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no other horse or rider were involved and it was caused by the gelding stumbling and being unable to regain its footing.
