The apparent improvement in form of the winner, Quian (GER), which had previously never been placed, was considered.
Thomas Gallagher’s explanation that the gelding appreciated its first run in a handicap was noted and Quian (GER) was routine tested.
An enquiry was held to consider interference leaving the back straight involving Phoenix Aquilus (IRE), placed third, ridden by James Bowen, Chadlington Lad (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Brendan Powell, the winner, Quian (GER), ridden by Jack Quinlan and Moonshine Spirit (GB), unplaced, ridden by Liam Harrison.
After interviewing all the riders and viewing recordings of the incident, the Stewards were unable to apportion blame.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Sous Surveillance (GB), unplaced, lost its right- fore shoe.
