The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving Drumroll, ridden by R.L. Moore, placed second, Kingswood (GB), ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed third, and Teutates, ridden by G.M

Ryan, placed first, where it appeared that interference may have occurred on a few occasions. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, R.P. Whelan stated that his mount was coming with a run but ran green and his final placing was not affected. R.L. Moore stated that his mount ran green and was joined by Teutates who bumped his own mount twice. G.M. Ryan stated that his mount hit the front a long way out and was joined later by Drumroll. He added that he hit his mount once with the whip in his right hand and he went left. He then pulled it throught to his left hand to correct him, but in his opinion, something caught his animals eye and he began to hang violently to the left despite his efforts to correct him. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Teutates had caused interference to Drumroll and as a result of this interference had improved its finishing position. As a consequence, the Raceday Stewards reversed the placings of the first and second placed horses and amended the result to read as follows: Amended Result: First: Drumroll, Second: Teutates, Third: Kingswood (GB), Fourth: Young Ireland, Fifth: Save Your Love, Sixth: Mister Mister (GER). Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that G.M. Ryan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard, they suspended him for two racedays

The Raceday Stewards interviewed R.P. Whelan, rider of Kingswood (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, R.P. Whelan admitted that he had exceeded the whip guidelines for frequency and explained that his mount was running around and being intimidated in a tight finish. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that R.P. Whelan was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards suspended R.P. Whelan for two racedays

R.P. Whelan, rider of Kingswood (GB), trained by John S. O'Donoghue, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount wandered around a bit in the straight

G.M. Ryan, rider of Teutates, trained by Donnacha Aidan O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung violently left inside the final furlong.
