The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Medici Venus (USA), ridden by W.M. Lordan, placed fourth, Celtic Motif, ridden by D. McMonagle, placed second, and Twolatebabydoll (FR), ridden by J.M. Sheridan, placed third, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence W.M. Lordan stated that things got a bit tight for room inside the closing stages. D. McMonagle stated that his mount leaned a little left under a righthand drive but felt he corrected her quickly. J.M. Sheridan stated that he firstly got a bump from Medici Venus and then further pressure from his outside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Celtic Motif had caused interference to both Medici Venus and Twolatebabydoll and as a result of this interference had improved it’s finishing position in relation to Twolatebabydoll and as a consequence, they reversed the placings of the second and third placed horses and amended the result to read as follows: Amended Result: First: Garden Of Eden Second: Twolatebabydoll Third: Celtic Motif Fourth: Medici Venus Fifth: Shelbiana Sixth: Pleasant Dawn Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that no riding offence had occurred and therefore took no further action

W.M. Lordan, rider of Medici Venus (USA), trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got a bit tight for room

J.M. Sheridan, rider of Twolatebabydoll (FR), trained by C.W.J. Farrell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount suffered interference in the closing stages.
