The winner, Kings Monarch (GB), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Chepstow on 18 January 2019 where the gelding finished twelfth of 16, beaten by 35 ¼ lengths.
Kerry Lee’s explanation that Kings Monarch (GB) had benefitted from a drop-in trip and the yard appearing to come into form was noted; the gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Skellig Rocks (FR), which was pulled up, had bled from the nose.
Jack R Barber reported that Redmond (IRE), which started favourite and finished fifth, was unsuited by the Good to Soft ground and would prefer an easier surface.
