The Stewards enquired into an incident when passing a spur defining the course over two furlongs from the finish involving The Names Jock, ridden by M.P. Sheehy, unplaced, In From The Cold, ridden by Sam Ewing, placed first and Ivy Avenue, ridden by R.P. Cleary, placed sixth, where it appeared that the riding was tight at this point resulting in The Names Jock checking. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. M.P. Sheehy gave his evidence in the presence of James Gorman and Sam Ewing gave his evidence in the presence of Michael Mulvany
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards advised Sam Ewing to ride with more care
