An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race following interference after the final fence, involving the winner, William Ewart (IRE), ridden by Nick Scholfield and Wonder Of The Seas (IRE), placed second, ridden by Sam Twiston-Davies.
The Stewards found the interference was minimal and had not improved William Ewart (IRE)’s placing, as Wonder Of The Seas (IRE) had lost little momentum when the interference took place, with the winning distance being a length and quarter and William Ewart (IRE), extending its lead at the line.
Scholfield was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift left-handed without sufficient correction, causing Twiston-Davies to be shifted marginally off his intended line and receive a small bump.
