The Starter reported that Brian Hayes, the rider of Listen Dear (IRE), failed to walk or jig-jog into the start.
Hayes and the Starter were interviewed and recordings of the start were shown.
Hayes’ explanation that he had misheard the instructions of the Starter was accepted.
Craig Nichol, the rider of Holly Flight (FR) had arrived in the Parade Ring after the signal to mount had been given.
After being interviewed, Nichol was fined £140.
The performance of Atlanta Ablaze (GB), which started second favourite and finished fourth of four runners, beaten by 45 lengths, was considered.
The representative of Henry Daly’s explanation that the mare was unsuited by the 2 miles 4 furlongs trip around Aintree which was too sharp a test on this occasion, was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Atlanta Ablaze (GB), during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
