Permission was given for Big Team (USA) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring.
Fair Star (IRE) unseated Callum Shepherd when exiting the parade ring chute and then cantered loose to the start.
After being checked by the Veterinary Surgeon and the Doctor at the start, both horse and rider were deemed fit to race.
Approximately 1½ furlongs out, Franny Norton, the rider of Sky Defender (GB), unplaced, struck Petite Jack (GB), placed second, once on the side of the head with his whip, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found to be accidental.
Approximately 1½ furlongs out, Bashosh (IRE), placed fourth, lugged slightly left-handed, before being quickly corrected, hampering Petite Jack (GB), placed second, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The Stewards noted that Mark Crehan, the rider of Possible Man (GB), placed fifth, dropped his whip approximately ½ a furlong out.
Following the race, Tom Eaves reported that Snow Ocean (IRE), unplaced, ran too free.
