The winner, VOSNE ROMANEE, appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Cheltenham on 27 October 2018 where the gelding was pulled up over two miles on good ground. Dr Richard Newland's representative's explanation that the gelding was suited by the quicker ground on this, occasion was noted. VOSNEE ROMANEE was routine tested.

An enquiry was held under (B)11.6 to consider whether the jockeys had taken the correct course in this race. Sam Twiston-Davies, the rider of the winner, VOSNE ROMANE, Barry Geraghty, the rider of CHAMPAGNE AT TARA, placed second, Stan Sheppard, the rider of ROCK ON ROCKY, placed third, and Wayne Hutchinson, the rider of INK MASTER, placed fourth, were interviewed, together with the Clerk of the Course and the Inspector of Courses. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the incident the Stewards considered the riders had by-passed the fence correctly, as directed, and ordered the placings to remain unaltered. A report was sent to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
