The Starter reported that Reckless Behavior (IRE) had been unruly at the start and refused to line up with the rest of the field before being withdrawn at 16.

Tommy Phelan, Aytach Sadik and the Starter were interviewed and shown recordings of the start.

Sadik was informed that any future similar behaviour from the gelding may result in the horse being reported to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.

The Stewards held an enquiry to consider a complaint by Aytach Sadik, the trainer of Reckless Behavior (IRE), into the circumstances surrounding the withdrawal of the gelding at the start.

They interviewed the trainer and the Starters.

Having considered their evidence and viewed recordings of the incident the Stewards were satisfied that Reckless Behavior had been allowed sufficient time to line up and jump off with the rest of the field before being withdrawn.

An enquiry was held to consider why the tape which guides the runners into the home straight was not in place as the runners rounded the final bend.

They interviewed the Clerk of the Course.

Having heard his evidence, the Stewards ordered a report to be sent to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.

Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination during routine testing of Pena Dorada (IRE), which was pulled up, found that the gelding had lost its right hind shoe and was lame right hind.
