Hamish (GB) wore earplugs which were removed at the start and was given permission to be mounted on the chute and go early to post.
Permission was also given for Passion And Glory (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after 2 incidents of interference from approximately 1 furlong out between the winner, Max Vega (IRE), ridden by Rossa Ryan, and Hamish (GB), placed second, ridden by Tom Marquand.
The Stewards considered that neither incident had improved Max Vega (IRE)’s placing as Hamish (GB) appeared to lose little to no momentum as a result of the interference a few strides before the line and Max Vega (IRE) always appeared to be holding the gelding with a head between them at the line.
Having reviewed recordings of the first incident approximately 1 furlong out, the Stewards found that no interference had taken place.
The second incident on the run to the line was found to be accidental as Hamish (GB) shifted slightly right-handed as Max Vega (IRE) edged marginally left-handed resulting in them making contact, and causing Hamish (GB) to become momentarily unbalanced.
