Approximately 1 furlong out, Echo (IRE), placed second, shifted left away from the whip when running green, causing Big Time Dancer (IRE), placed fourth, to be slightly checked, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Echo (IRE).
The winner, Swordbill (GB), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Nottingham on 11 May 2019, where the gelding finished eleventh of twelve, beaten 24 lengths.
Ian Williams' representative explained that Swordbill (GB) had appreciated the quicker going, which was Good to Firm on this occasion and also the slight step up in trip to 1m 6?f.
The gelding was routine tested.
