Permission was given for Fox Hill (GB) to be mounted in the chute.

The Starter reported that Spurofthemoment (GB) was the subject of a third criteria failure.

Charles Hills was informed that the filly could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.

As it was the second occasion within the previous 12 months that Spurofthemoment (GB) had been reported, a further report within the same period would mean that the filly would be prevented from having a stalls test for 6 months.

Approaching the final furlong marker, Not On Your Nellie (IRE), placed fourth, shifted quickly left- handed, causing Second Collection (GB), placed sixth, to be moved marginally of its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Not On Your Nellie (IRE).

The performance of Second Collection (GB), which started favourite and finished last of six runners, was considered.

It was noted that the representative of Tony Carroll could offer no explanation for the performance of the mare other than the report from the rider that Second Collection (GB) was never travelling.

The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the mare, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Following the race, Sebastian Wood reported that Not On Your Nellie (IRE), placed fourth, hung left- handed and Sean Kirrane reported that Country Carnival (IRE), placed third, was denied a clear run approximately 1½ furlongs out.
